Pastor Garrett began preaching in 1981, became pastor
of his first church in 1986 and has been full-time in the pastorate since 1991 after graduating from Lee University with a
Bachelors Degree in Biblical Education and Pastoral Studies.
He also has eight years experience working as a Substance
Abuse and Family Counselor in both Tennessee and Illinois. "Pastor D" along with his wife Libby and their children, Daniel and Ashley moved to Galesburg in
June of 2004 when they accepted the pastorate at Harvest Church.
Their family truly works as a team as the entire
family is involved in the various aspects of ministry.
Pastor Darrell makes himself transparent as he openly shares
how he has walked through personal failure and pain and has grown through brokenness, learning that God's love and power
are for imperfect people, like him. Through such times, God has given him a message that connects to everyday people who are
in process and seeking more for their lives.
Pastor Darrell's stated mission is to empower changed people
to change the world.
His message is clear: If Christians are to positively impact the world, they must be willing
to minister beyond the walls of the church. He states emphatically that we must "stop going to church and BE the church!"
